Wesley finishes 4-0 at CUA Guetle Invitational with wins over William Peace, Ursinus

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wesley College women's volleyball team took down the William Peace Pacers and Ursinus Bears on Saturday to secure a perfect 4-0 record at the two-day Catholic University of America Guetle Invitational. 

Wesley started the day cruising to a three-set sweep (25-15, 25-14, 25-13) over the William Peace Pacers. 

Tionne Graves-Brown and Jessica Tynes each tallied a kill-dig double-double in the victory. They both recorded 11 kills. Graves-Brown registered 12 digs while Tynes dug out 10 attacks.

Teaghen Vogelsang and Lindsay Burg handed out 17 and 15 assists respectively. Caelli Clifford paced the defense with a team-high 17 digs and three service aces.

Wesley capped off the tournament with a four-set win (25-22, 24-26, 25-19, 25-17) over the Ursinus Bears.

Graves-Brown collected her fourth double-double of the tournament with a 13-dig, 11-kill performance. She also added four blocks and a service ace. 

Cody Ziolkowski also picked up 11 kills in the win over Ursinus, Tynes notched eight kills while Elisa Hackendorn, Regan Healey and Tania Rounds each had five kills. Rounds added two solo blocks and two block assists to her stat line.

Vogelsang and Burg split time to dish out 39 assists collectively. Clifford had a match-high 20 digs for the Wolverines.

At the end of the tournament, Graves-Brown was named to the All-Tournament team. In Wesley's four matches, she notched 48 digs, 46 kills, eight blocks and four double-doubles.

The Wolverines (6-2) will hold their 2017 home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they host the Widener Pride at Wentworth Gymnasium. Action gets underway at 7 p.m.
