Graves-Brown notches double-double against Southern Va.

BUENA VISTA, Va.  – The Wesley College volleyball team stumbled in four sets (22-25, 28-26. 14-25, 13-25) to the Southern Virginia Knights in a Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) road contest on Saturday.

Tionne Graves-Brown notched a kill-dig double-double for the Wolverines. She tallied 23 digs and 10 kills for the Wolverines. Graves-Brown also added two blocks and a service ace.

Jessica Tynes chipped in with 10 digs, seven kills and two service aces.  Nadia Hopkins recorded five kills, three block assists and a solo block. Mary Getty registered three block assists while Courtney Olson collected two block assists. Tania Rounds had two solo blocks for the Wolverines.

Lindsay Burg dished out 15 assists and dug out six Knight attacks while Caelli Clifford had 18 digs.

Penny Gwynn had 25 kills for the Knights.

The Wolverines (12-6, 0-2 CAC) will step out of conference play when they host the Washington Adventist Shock on Tuesday. Action from Wentworth Gymnasium will start at 7 p.m.
