Burg becomes all-time assists leader in tri-match sweep over Immaculata, Trinity

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday over Atlantic East Conference foe, Immaculata, and Trinity Washington.

Wesley tallied a four-set win, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16 over Immaculata to open the tri-match.

In the win, Lindsay Burg became Wesley's all-time leader in assists during the match, surpassing Beth Schlecker. Burg tallied 14 digs and 13 assists to record her 10th double-double of the season. She added four kills and three service aces in the win.

Caelli Clifford dug out 32 attacks to tie a season-best. Clifford also added four assists, two service aces and a kill. Regan Healey notched 17 digs with eight kills and a pair of service aces.

Elisa Hackendorn paced the Wesley attack with 11 kills along with eight digs and three assists. Teaghen Vogelsang dished out a team-high 17 assists and recorded eight digs. Jenna Burchfield registered nine digs.

Olivia Zdradzinski had 31 assists and 18 digs for Immaculata.

Wesley cruised in the final match of the tri-match over Trinity Washington, 25-7, 25-10, 25-6.

As a team, Wesley recorded a season-best total in service aces, dropping in 26 on the Tigers. Mary Getty had a career-high nine aces, one away from tying the program record. Getty also collected five kills.

Healey and Nya Lightfoot had six kills on 12 attempts from the outside hitter spot. Healey added four digs and two service aces. Kaya Ziskay went a perfect 5-for-5 in attempts along with a team-high eight digs.

Clifford and Hackendorn each tallied seven digs while Hackendorn registered four service aces.

Burg increased her lead on the all-time assists record with 18 in the sweep. She also added five service aces, five digs and two kills. Lexus Christopher dropped in three kills and two aces for Wesley.

Wesley (13-15, 2-3 Atlantic East) will hit the road on Wednesday when they take on the Goucher Gophers. The game from Towson, Md. is set for a 7 p.m. start.
