Wolverines Sweep Quad-Match Weekend

Dover, Del. – The Wolverines now 10-8 overall hosted a quad-match weekend that included Farmingdale, John Jay and Wilkes. Friday night the Wolverines played Wilkes and won 3-1 in four sets. Saturday the ladies played Farmingdale and won 3-2 in five sets and lastly, they took on John Jay and won 3-0.

Match one vs. Wilkes

Set scores for the Wolverines were 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, 27-25.

Defensively, Wesley had 115 digs in four sets, Emily Waldridge led with 22, followed by Caelli Clifford with 21, Regan Healey with 20 and Lindsay Burg with 18.

Emily Waldridge also led the offense with 15 kills, close behind was Mary Getty and Regan Healy with 13 each.

The Wolverines hit .097 to Wilkes .177.
Lindsay Burg had 38 assists Brooke Gurganus had 7 to help fuel the offense.

Match two vs. Farmingdale 

Set scores for the Wolverines 24-26, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-13 

Rough start for the first match of the day on Saturday as the Wolverines dropped the first two sets to Farmingdale but things heated up when the ladies came back and won three sets straight to take the win 3-2.

Defensively, Wesley had 152 digs in five sets, Lindsay Burg led with 39, Caelli Clifford with 37, followed by Emily Waldridge with 27 and Regan Healey with 22.

Emily Waldridge led the offense again with 14 kills, helping her out were teammates Mary Getty with 10 and Mackenzie Bender with 5.

The Wolverines hit .072 on the match.

Match three vs. John Jay

The last match of the weekend went suburb for the Wolverines with a clean sweep against John Jay, 3-0.

Defensively, the Wolverines had 74 digs in three sets, Caelli Clifford led with 20, followed by Emily Waldridge with 14 and Lindsay Burg with 12.

Offensively, Regan Healey, Micah Wright and Mary Getty all led with 7 kills each. Emily Waldridge added to the kills with 5.

The Wolverines hit a .204 on the match.

Weekend Leaders:

Lindsay Burg with 132 assists, 10 kills, 5 service aces and 86 digs for the week. With this she breaks Wesley College's match record with 49 assists from the match against Farmingdale.


The Wolverines head to Washington Adventist on Wednesday, October 2nd. Matchup is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m start.
